Basketball Recap: Alpha Omega Academy Comes Up Short

It was a proper cat-fight when Alpha Omega Academy duked it out withKennard on Thursday. The Alpha Omega Academy Lions fell to the Kennard Tigers 57-51. The Lions' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it five in a row.

Kennard's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Deuce Harrell, who went 7 for 9 on his way to 15 points in addition to eight boards and four steals. The matchup was Harrell's 11th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of De Vant'E Toliver, who went 6 of 12 on his way to 15 points and five assists.

Alpha Omega Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Kennard, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Richards the next time they take the court. Kennard will host Richards at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, while Alpha Omega Academy will play them later in the day, at 4:30 p.m.
