Football Recap: Blackstone-Millville Comes Up Short

The Blackstone-Millville Chargers took a blow against the Groton-Dunstable Crusaders on Friday, falling 38-7. The Chargers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the defeat, Blackstone-Millville had strong showings from Nathan Oliveira, who picked up 94 receiving yards and one score, and Karson Cournoyer, who threw for 153 yards and one touchdown. Cournoyer didn't just play on offense: he also made seven total tackles (2.0 for loss) and defended one pass.

Blackstone-Millville's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Groton-Dunstable, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Coming up, Blackstone-Millville will look to takes advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they takes on Montachusett RVT at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Groton-Dunstable, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Greater Lawrence Tech at 6:00 p.m. on October 3.
