Volleyball Recap: Greater Lowell Tech Finds Home Court Redemption Against Central Catholic

There's no place like home for Greater Lowell Tech, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Central Catholic Raiders on Thursday as they made off with a 3-0 win. This was payback for the Gryphons, who suffered a 3-2 loss the last time these two teams met.

While Greater Lowell Tech might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Central Catholic scored at least 19 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-19, 25-22.

Greater Lowell Tech had a senior duo take command as Luis Carrasquillo had nine digs and three aces and Anthony Gonzalez had 18 assists and seven digs. Those three aces set a new season-high mark for Carrasquillo.

Greater Lowell Tech was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 11 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in 11 consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Greater Lowell Tech pushed their record up to 7-3 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. As for Central Catholic, they are on a ten-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-9.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Greater Lowell Tech will welcome Lowell Catholic at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Central Catholic, they will be playing at home against Dracut at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
