Basketball Recap: Highland Piles Up the Points Against Wiggins

You're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter, and that's exactly how it played out for Highland on Tuesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that they blew the Wiggins Tigers out of the water with a 71-44 final score. The Huskies have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 21 points or more this season.

It was another big night for Brogan Palmer, who almost dropped a double-double with 13 points and nine boards. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in blocks (six). Rowdy Watson was another key player, going 5-for-8 en route to 13 points and five assists.

Highland smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 30 consecutive matchups dating back to last season.

Wiggins' loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Grady Wilson, who almost dropped a double-double with 11 points and nine rebounds. Wilson is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 45% in the last three games he's played. Cash Pape also deserves some recognition as he pulled down his first board of the season.

Highland's victory bumped their record up to 14-1. As for Wiggins, they dropped their record down to 8-9 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Highland didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 69-53 loss against Strasburg on the 7th. As for Wiggins, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 65-40 defeat against Yuma on the 7th.
