The Hialeah Educational Academy Biggie will square off against the Monsignor Pace Spartans at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Monsignor Pace took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Hialeah Educational Academy, who comes in off a win.
Last Thursday, Hialeah Educational Academy earned a 7-3 victory over Brito. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Biggie.
JADEN LAO tossed a big game, striking out eight batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on BRIAN BOLANOS, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI and one triple. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. BRYAN GONZALEZ was another key player, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.
Hialeah Educational Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .379. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Brito only posted a batting average of .240.
For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Monsignor Pace and Stoneman Douglas meet (five straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Friday. The Spartans came up short against the Eagles, falling 9-0. The matchup marked the first time this year in which the Spartans were not able to get on the board.
Monsignor Pace's defeat dropped their record down to 13-9. As for Hialeah Educational Academy, their record now sits at 9-10.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Monday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Hialeah Educational Academy has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Monsignor Pace struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Hialeah Educational Academy came out on top in a nail-biter against Monsignor Pace in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, sneaking past 5-4. Do the Biggie have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Spartans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
