Baseball Recap: Swink's Victory on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Swink won the last time they faced Centauri and things went their way on Friday too. Swink blew past Centauri 13-3. Fans of the Lions have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 6+ runs.

Nate Cabrera was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out nine over four innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in May of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, Nick Paolucci was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-3. What's more, he posted three RBI, the most he's had since back in May of 2024. Luke Hanagan was another key player, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

The win (which was Swink's third in a row) raised their record to 3-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 14.0 runs this season. As for Centauri, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.

Looking ahead, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Swink Lions face off against Peyton Panthers at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Centauri, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 7-0 defeat against Las Animas on the 21st.
