Volleyball Recap: Wheatmore Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Wheatmore lost against West Davidson back in September and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Warriors came up short against the Dragons, falling 3-0. The Warriors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

While Wheatmore ultimately came up short, they really made West Davidson work, particularly in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 26-24, 25-23.

Madeline Mullinix paced Wheatmore's offense, picking up nine kills. Mullinix got some help from Lanie McMahan and her 17 assists. McMahan was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Wheatmore's loss dropped their record down to 7-10. As for West Davidson, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-8 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matches. Wheatmore will venture away from home to face off against Central Davidson at 6:15 p.m. on Monday. As for West Davidson, they will take on Trinity at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
