Football Recap: Mapleton Comes Up Short

Mapleton lost against Wellington back in August of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The match between the Mounties and the Dukes didn't end well, with the Mounties falling 28-12.

Gaven Wacker was the offensive standout of the game as he threw for 128 yards and three TDs on only eight passes. He also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, forcing one fumble and making three total tackles.

Mapleton's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Wellington, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

Coming up, Mapleton will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Crestline at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Wellington, they will venture away from home to face off against Plymouth at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
