Football Recap: Lely Continues Road Dominance on Friday

Lely won the last time they faced Bonita Springs and Nino Joseph did his part to make sure it happened again. The Trojans took their game on Friday with ease, bagging a 64-8 win over the Bullsharks with plenty of help from Joseph, who rushed for 188 yards and two TDs on only 13 carries. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more rushing touchdowns the last three times he's played.

The team also got some help courtesy of Zephaniah Diamond, who picked up 87 receiving yards and three touchdowns. He really caught the secondary sleeping when he pulled down a catch that went for 77 yards.

Lely's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-3. The road wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 2.7 points on average over those games. As for Bonita Springs, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Lely will take on South Fort Myers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. That contest will pit two of the most dominant backs against one another: Joseph and Arthur Gallishaw. As for Bonita Springs, they will face off against Estero at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Bullsharks' defense better be ready for this one: the Wildcats have averaged an impressive 34.7 points per game this season.
