Baseball Recap: Breck Has No Trouble Against Mounds Park Academy

Breck entered their tilt with Mounds Park Academy on Wednesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Panthers 11-1. The game marked the Mustangs' most dominant win of the season so far.

Breck got a massive performance out of Colin Mitchell, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. That's the most RBI Mitchell has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Alex Averbook, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Breck kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in three consecutive matches.

Breck now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Mounds Park Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Breck is set to take on their familiar foe Minnehaha Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Mounds Park Academy will face off against rival St. Paul Academy-Summit at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
