Football Recap: New Castle Falls to Franklin County in First Game of Season

New Castle unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. The game between the Trojans and the Franklin County Wildcats didn't end well, with the Trojans falling 27-13. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it five in a row.

Although New Castle took the loss, they still got scores from Darin Reynolds and Tylin Thrine.

Wyatt Bowling had an outrageously good game for Franklin County as he rushed for 290 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 13.8 yards per carry, and also threw for 46 yards and one TD. Those 290 rushing yards gave Bowling a new career-high.

Coming up, New Castle will welcome Jay County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Franklin County, they will head out on the road to square off against Connersville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
