Recap: Rockingham County Cougars vs. Northeast Guilford Rams
The Rockingham County Cougars''s game last Friday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They managed a 18-13 victory over Northeast Guilford. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Rockingham County also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2022.
BRICE BAKER had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 162 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 9.5 yards per carry.
Rockingham County's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 6-3. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 0-9 High Point Central and 0-9 Southern Guilford (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 22.2% over those games). As for Northeast Guilford, their loss dropped their record down to 6-3.
Rockingham County will be playing in front of their home fans against Atkins at 7:00 p.m. on October 27th. Atkins will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 316th, while Rockingham County is ranked 139th). As for Northeast Guilford, they will head out on the road to face off against Ben L. Smith at 7:00 p.m. on October 27th.
