Softball Recap: Exeter Gets the Win

While Exeter's victory against Strathmore wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Exeter had just enough and edged out Strathmore 3-1. The Monarchs haven't had any issues with the Spartans recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Chloe Sparrow spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits and racked up 14 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in eight consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Taylor Brandt was excellent, going 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in February.

Exeter's victory bumped their record up to 8-3. As for Strathmore, with the defeat, they broke their six-game winning streak and moved their record to 8-3.

Coming up, Exeter will host Sierra Pacific at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Exeter's pitchers better be ready for this one: Sierra Pacific has averaged an impressive 7 runs per game this season. As for Strathmore, they will venture away from home to take on Farmersville at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
