Softball Recap: Thursday's Win Is Jefferson County North's Sixth in Last Eight Outings

Jefferson County North got themselves on the board against Atchison County on Thursday, but Atchison County never followed suit. They blew past the Tigers 15-0. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 16-9 on Thursday.

Olivia Domann was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Jefferson County North let Kennadi Hernandez and Bowie Weishaar run wild. Hernandez got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one double, while Weishaar got on base in all four of her plate appearances with four runs. That's the most runs Weishaar has posted since back in April. Emmarie Hernandez was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

Jefferson County North hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are 2-1 when they post two or more strikeouts.

Jefferson County North has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-16 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games. As for Atchison County, they dropped their record down to 0-23 with the defeat, which was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season.
