Softball Recap: Austin Eagles vs. Charlestown Pirates
After flying high against Crothersville on Monday, Austin came back down to earth. The Eagles came up short against the Charlestown Pirates on Thursday, falling 10-0. If the Eagles were looking for revenge after losing 24-3 to the Pirates when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.
Austin's defeat dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Charlestown, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season.
Austin will take on Providence at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Eagles' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Pioneers have averaged an impressive 6.3 runs per game this season. As for Charlestown, they will challenge Madison at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
