Northwood is on a ten-game streak of home losses, and North Caddo a six-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Thursday. The Northwood Falcons will host the North Caddo Titans at 5:00 p.m. Northwood knows how to get runs on the board -- the squad has finished with ten runs or more in their past three matches -- so hopefully North Caddo likes a good challenge.
Northwood's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They put the hurt on North Webster with a sharp 15-0 win. The victory continues a trend for the Falcons in their matchups with the Knights: they've now won three in a row.

Devan Ashby made a big impact no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 13 over seven innings pitched. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 5.4 strikeouts per game. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 3-for-6. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March.
In other batting news, Mackenzie Jagers and Stephanie Ramirez did most of the damage at the plate: Jagers scored four runs and stole three bases while going 3-for-5, while Ramirez went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two doubles, and one run. That's the most hits Jagers has posted over her last eight contests. The team also got some help courtesy of Ellie Brown, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.
Northwood kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, North Caddo lost 14-2 to Loyola College Prep on Wednesday.
North Caddo saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Paisley Blaine, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-1. That stolen base was Blaine's first of the season.
North Caddo's loss dropped their record down to 4-10. As for Northwood, their win bumped their record up to 8-18.
Thursday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Northwood has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .436. However, it's not like North Caddo struggles in that department as they've averaged .468. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Northwood's way against North Caddo in their previous meeting back in March of 2021, as Northwood made off with a 16-1 victory. Do the Falcons have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Titans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
