With a playoff win on the line, Elkhorn South rose to the challenge  on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with  a  7-5  win over the Papillion-LaVista South Titans. The Storm haven't had any issues with the Titans recently, as the game was their third consecutive  victory against them.
 Cal Cooper tossed a big game,   striking out six batters over  five innings while giving up just two earned  (and two unearned) runs off   four  hits.
 At the plate, Elkhorn South let  Jack Gideon and  Eamon O'Gorman run wild. Gideon  went 2-for-3 with three  RBI and one  double, while  O'Gorman  went 1-for-4 with one  home run. That's the most  RBI  Gideon has posted since back in April.  Markus Gorup was another key player,  going 2-for-3 with one  run.
Elkhorn South's record now sits at 18-11. As for Papillion-LaVista South, their defeat dropped their record down to 25-10.
 Coming up, Elkhorn South will challenge Millard North at 1:00  p.m.  on Wednesday. The Mustangs will roll in looking for their  ninth straight  win, something the Storm surely won't give up without a fight. Papillion-LaVista South does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
