Football Recap: Steilacoom Sentinels vs. Aberdeen Bobcats

Steilacoom won against Bremerton last Friday with 19 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. The Sentinels walked away with a 19-12 win over the Aberdeen Bobcats. The Sentinels have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Bobcats, too.

A big part of Steilacoom's victory came down to the chemistry between Titus Kaeka and his top target Jaleo Johnson. Kaeka threw for 256 yards and two TDs while picking up 11.1 yards per attempt while Johnson picked up 69 receiving yards and one score. Johnson showed off some serious burst, lighting up the secondary with a catch for 56 yards.

Although Aberdeen took the loss, they still got scores from Micah Schroeder and Adonis Hammonds.

Steilacoom has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 12 points this season. As for Aberdeen, their defeat was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-1.

Looking ahead, Steilacoom will welcome Washington at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup will give the Sentinels their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Aberdeen, they are taking a road trip to challenge Rochester at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
