Softball Recap: Fountain Central Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Fountain Central can now relate to. They lost 8-2 to the Lafayette Central Catholic Knights on Thursday. The Mustangs were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Knights earlier this season, when they won 13-2.

Mallory Massey was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Fountain Central has also been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-18 record this season. As for Lafayette Central Catholic, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-18.

As of now, neither Fountain Central nor the Knights have any future games scheduled.
