Softball Recap: Kennedy Wins Going Away Against Healdsburg

With a playoff win on the line, Kennedy rose to the challenge on Friday. They were the clear victors by an 11-5 margin over the Healdsburg Greyhounds. The result was nothing new for the Titans, who have now won seven matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Tatyana Corrales, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI. Those two hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Angelina Campos, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Kennedy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are 5-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Kennedy pushed their record up to 11-8 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Healdsburg, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 14-13 record this season.

Kennedy will be playing at home against Piner at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Prospectors will roll in looking for their tenth straight win, something the Titans surely won't give up without a fight. Healdsburg does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
