Football Recap: Victor Valley Starts off Right with Win over San Gorgonio

Victor Valley gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They really took it to the San Gorgonio Spartans for the full four quarters, racking up a 66-0 win. The match was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Jackrabbits had established a 59-point advantage.

Robert Middlebrooks went supernova, throwing for 184 yards and five TDs while completing 73.3% of his passes. Cantrell Eubanks handled things on the ground, rushing for 85 yards and a rushing touchdown.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Victor Valley's defense and their three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Jaidyn Holston, Terion Mathis, and Devon Easley, who each picked up one sack apiece. Another thorn in San Gorgonio's side was Holston, who picked up a sack, forced one fumble, and made seven total tackles (2.0 for loss).

Victor Valley has already played their next contest, a 45-17 victory against Legacy on the 29th. As for San Gorgonio, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 35-13 loss against Ontario on the 28th.
