Volleyball Recap: Big Walnut Golden Eagles vs. New Albany Eagles
Big Walnut lost against New Albany back in March, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Golden Eagles lost 3-0 to the Eagles. The Golden Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Big Walnut was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. The final score came out to 25-23, 25-14, 25-20.
Judah Stewart paced Big Walnut's offense, picking up nine kills. Stewart got some help from Bryce Lawhun and his 20 assists. Cameron Parry controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.
Adam Sutton was the offensive standout of the contest as he had 11 digs and two aces. He is on a roll when it comes to digs, as he's now had 11 or more in each of the last four games he's played. Sahil Shah also deserves some recognition as he served his first ace of the season.
Big Walnut's defeat dropped their record down to 5-4. As for New Albany, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-3.
Big Walnut wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 3-0 victory against Dublin Scioto on the 8th. As for New Albany, they have also already played their next matchup, a 3-0 loss against Pickerington North on the 8th.
