Recap: Westview Wildcats vs. South Salem Saxons
The Westview Wildcats lost to the South Salem Saxons back in December of 2022, but the Westview Wildcats didn't allow the South Salem Saxons the same satisfaction on Saturday. Westview secured a 54-48 W over South Salem. The win made it back-to-back wins for Westview.
Westview was led to victory by Kaleah Medeiros and Dara Oluwafemi. Medeiros scored 18 points, while Oluwafemi scored 25 points along with five rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Oluwafemi has scored at least 25% of Westview's points.
Westview's victory bumped their record up to 6-4. As for South Salem, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-4 record this season.
Westview is on the road again on Friday and play against West Linn at 6:30 p.m. on January 5th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Oregon (West Linn is ranked 24th, while Westview is ranked 49th). South Salem and North Eugene will face off at 6:30 p.m. on January 2nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. North Eugene is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
