Recap: Fremont Tigers vs. Norfolk Panthers
The Fremont Tigers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They took a 46-33 hit to the loss column at the hands of Norfolk. That's two games in a row now that Fremont has lost by exactly 13 points.
Fremont's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Jenna Mcclain, who scored 12 points, and Matthea Dalton who scored 11 points along with six rebounds. Mcclain scored a full 36.4% of Fremont's points, the fifth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Skylar Indra continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Norfolk, scoring 14 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Indra has scored at least 25% of Norfolk's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Russell Aubrey, who scored eight points.
Fremont's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Norfolk, their victory bumped their record up to 1-4.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fremont will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Columbus at 5:30 p.m. on January 4, 2024. Norfolk won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against North Platte at 3:00 p.m. on December 16th. Hopefully North Platte focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 last Friday.
