Baseball Recap: Galt Triumphs

It may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Galt ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They had just enough and edged out the Union Mine Diamondbacks 7-6. For the Warriors, this counts as revenge for the 6-4 win the Diamondbacks walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2025.

Galt got a great performance from Trent Dozier as he struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. That's the most strikeouts Dozier has posted since back in March.

At the plate, Galt saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Carlo Sterni, who went 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. That's the most runs Sterni has posted since back in March. Another was Anthony Trejo, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

The victory made it two in a row for Galt and bumps their season record up to 7-12. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 7 runs in those games. As for Union Mine, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-13 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Union Mine beat Galt by a score of 2-0 later that day.
