Baseball Game Preview: Bolles Bulldogs vs. Fletcher Senators

The Bolles Bulldogs will venture away from home to face off against the Fletcher Senators at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Bolles will be coming into the game with an undefeated record on the line.

Bolles is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Wolfson with a sharp 11-5 victory on Tuesday. With that win, the Bulldogs brought their scoring average up to 7 runs per game.

The team relied heavily on Ford McCarthy, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two triples, three RBI, and two runs. Those two triples gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Denzel Del Valle Delgado, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Fletcher might've scored the first runs on Thursday, but it was Ponte Vedra who claimed the real prize. Fletcher fell just short of Ponte Vedra by a score of 4-3.

Zeke Stalnaker made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 4-for-4. Kolby Batten was another key player, getting no hits from his three at bats.

Bolles pushed their record up to 4-0 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs over those games. As for Fletcher, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-3.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Bolles has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Fletcher struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.2 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.

Bolles skirted past Fletcher 7-6 when the teams last played back in February of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Bolles since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
