Volleyball Recap: James Monroe Victorious

The James Monroe Mavericks were able to grind out a solid victory over the Mount Hope Christian Academy Warriors on Monday, taking the game 2-0.

While James Monroe won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the first set they played. The final score came out to 26-24, 25-18.

Ava Pitzer paced James Monroe's offense, picking up seven kills. Pitzer got some help from Haleigh Mann and her ten assists. Skylar Clarkson controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

James Monroe now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Mount Hope Christian Academy, their loss was their first of the season and also makes their record 2-1.

James Monroe has already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against Woodrow Wilson on the 25th. As for Mount Hope Christian Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Victory Baptist Academy on the 28th.
