Basketball Recap: Mercy Mcauley Skates Past Gamble Montessori with Ease

A well-balanced attack led Mercy McAuley over Gamble Montessori in every quarter on their way to victory on Monday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Mercy McAuley Wolves blew the Gamble Montessori Gators out of the water with a 62-17 final score. The contest was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Wolves had established a 40 point advantage.

Mercy McAuley was led to victory by Ady Kreimer and Aubree Bernecker. Kreimer went 6-for-15 en route to 15 points in addition to six rebounds and five steals, while Bernecker went 5-for-7 on her way to 12 points and seven steals. That's the most points Bernecker has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Haley Murphy, who had nine points and four steals.

Mercy McAuley smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in six consecutive matchups.

Mercy McAuley's win bumped their record up to 9-14. As for Gamble Montessori, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-12.

Coming up, Mercy McAuley will take on DePaul Cristo Rey in a tournament on February 18th. Gamble Montessori does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
