Softball Recap: Northern Potter's Win on Wednesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Northern Potter entered their tilt with Smethport on Wednesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They never let the Hubbers get on the board and left with a 20-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won five contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Jaylyn Williammee made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those three runs gave her a new career-high.

In other pitching news, Smethport's batters probably weren't too happy with Miranda Jacoby, who pitched a no hitter (she gave up a single walk).

Back at the plate, Myah Kibbe was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with six RBI, three runs, and one double. Those six RBI gave her a new career-high. Serenity Risser was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI.

Northern Potter always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .537. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive matchups.

Northern Potter's victory bumped their record up to 9-4. As for Smethport, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Northern Potter beat the Hubbers by a score of 23-2 later that day.
