Baseball Recap: Jennings County Comes Up Short

It was a proper cat-fight when Jennings County challenged Franklin County on Saturday. The Panthers took a 12-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wildcats. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 4-2 on Saturday.

Jennings County saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cooper Lane, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs. Cam Tichenor also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

This is the second loss in a row for Jennings County and nudges their season record down to 3-4. As for Franklin County, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Jennings County will head out to challenge Silver Creek at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Franklin County, they will face off against Connersville at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
