Baseball Recap: Richardson Takes a Loss

After soaring to 13 runs the game before, Richardson was a bit more limited in their matchup on Thursday. They fell just short of the Denison Yellow Jackets by a score of 3-1. The Eagles were not able to make up for their defeat to the Yellow Jackets from their previous meeting back in March of 2022.

Richardson got a good showing from Marshall Uphues, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

At the plate, Cole Cage made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-3. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in hits.

Richardson has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-7-1 record this season. Denison's win bumped their record up to 4-7.

Coincidentally, Richardson and Denison will both be playing North Garland the next time they take the field. Denison will head out to face North Garland at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, while Richardson will play them later in the day, at 6:30 p.m.
