Godley won the last time they faced Hillsboro and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Wildcats were the clear victors by a 9-1 margin over the Eagles. Considering the Wildcats have won 17 matches by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Byron McClure was incredible, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Adam Pempsell also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Godley has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 27-5-1 record this season. As for Hillsboro, they dropped their record down to 6-18 with the loss, which was their seventh straight on the road.
Coming up, Godley will head out to face off against Clyde at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Wildcats 3, the Bulldogs 3.5) so any runs scored will be well earned. Hillsboro does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
