Preview: Toombs County Bulldogs vs. Tattnall County Warriors
Toombs County has been on the road for three straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Tattnall County Warriors at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Toombs County is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Warriors in Georgia (the Bulldogs are ranked 83rd, while the Warriors are ranked 397th).
In what's become a running theme this season, Toombs County gave their fans yet another huge victory on Tuesday. They breezed by Appling County on the road to the tune of 81-45. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 49-19.
Toombs County had a senior duo take command as Jesus Quintero almost dropped a double-double on 19 points and nine assists and Dominic Eason scored 25 points along with six rebounds and three blocks. It was the first time this season that Quintero posted eight or more assists. Demetrius Cutler was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with seven rebounds.
Meanwhile, Tattnall County came up short against the Herons on Tuesday and fell 62-52. Tattnall County has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Toombs County pushed their record up to 19-2 with that victory, which was their eighth straight on the road. As for Tattnall County, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost nine of their last 12 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-16 record this season.
Things could have been worse for Toombs County, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 67-53 loss to the Warriors in their previous meeting back in February of 2023.
