East Central had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the Lawrenceburg Tigers 39-12. The Trojans haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.
Ryan Minges had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 171 yards and three TDs. His rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his fourth straight game with at least 138 rushing yards dating back to last season.
Minges was just one part of a punishing run game: East Central was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 232 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 215 rushing yards in four consecutive contests dating back to last season.
Although Lawrenceburg took the loss, they still got scores from Isaiah Williams and Keaten McGrath.
East Central and Lawrenceburg should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings. The Trojans will square off against Harrison at 7:30 p.m. on Friday with a big rank advantage (13 vs. 145). Meanwhile, Lawrenceburg (ranked 38th) will meet Taylor (ranked 334th) at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
