Nathan Montes De Oca Turns in Season-Best Performance
Sadly, Nathan Montes De Oca posting his best game of the season wasn't enough to lead Grandview over Tri-Cities Prep on Friday. Montes De Oca rushed for 188 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 10.4 yards per carry, and also picked up 40 receiving yards, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. He showed off some serious burst, turning on the afterburners on one carry for 65 yards.
Grandview dropped their record down to 1-7 with the defeat, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season. Montes De Oca and Grandview will face off against Ephrata at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Prosser Gets a Boost from Rainer in 49-20 Win
Jacob Rainer was a major factor in Prosser's win over Ellensburg on Friday. Nobody could stop Rainer as he threw for 266 yards and five touchdowns, and also rushed for 31 yards and a touchdown.
Prosser pushed their record up to 5-3 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. Rainer and Prosser will welcome Selah at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.

A Season-Best Effort from Jaxon Berg Leads East Valley over Quincy
On Friday, East Valley got the W thanks in part to Jaxon Berg playing the best football he has all season. Berg threw for 234 yards and four touchdowns while completing 78.6% of his passes.
Quincy's probably not too fond of Berg given he always seems to get the better of them. Back in September of 2023 (the last time Berg saw the Jackrabbits), he threw for 284 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 12.9 yards per attempt, and also rushed for 41 yards.

On Friday, Prosser got the W thanks in part to Landon Bailey playing the best football he has all season. Bailey picked up 154 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
This season, Bailey has caught 9 touchdowns while averaging 58.9 receiving yards per game. He's made a big improvement compared to last season: at this point last year, he had five receiving touchdowns.
