Volleyball Recap: Plainfield East Comes Up Short

Plainfield East was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 2-0 to the Plainfield South Cougars. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cougars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 back in April.

While Plainfield East had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 20 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-21, 25-20.

Plainfield East's loss dropped their record down to 10-16. As for Plainfield South, they have been performing well recently as they've won 12 of their last 16 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-10 record this season.

Plainfield East will take on Hinsdale Central in a tournament on Friday. As for Plainfield South, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Yorkville at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
