The Southern Lab Kittens will take on the Woodlawn-B.R. Panthers at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Southern Lab has five straight victories, Woodlawn-B.R. has five straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Last Tuesday, Southern Lab made easy work of Northeast and carried off a 20-2 win. The result was nothing new for the Kittens, who have now won six contests by 12 runs or more so far this season.

Jamar Gardner made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Gardner was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring four runs and stealing Three bases. while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Southern Lab is undefeated when Gardner posts two or more runs, but 2-3 otherwise.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Robert Gordon, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeremy Johnson, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.
Meanwhile, Woodlawn-B.R. scored first but ultimately less than West Feliciana in their matchup on Tuesday. They came up short against the Saints, falling 23-4.
Noah Arroyo was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring three runs while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in runs. Another player making a difference was Michael Gray, who scored a run while going 2-for-2.
Southern Lab pushed their record up to 7-3 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 16.3 runs. As for Woodlawn-B.R., their defeat dropped their record down to 3-13.
Southern Lab took their win against Woodlawn-B.R. in their previous meeting back in March of 2022 by a conclusive 12-4. Does Southern Lab have another victory up their sleeve, or will Woodlawn-B.R. turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
