Basketball Recap: Chino Valley's Win Ends Nine-Game Losing Streak on the Road

Chino Valley fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back victories it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They snuck past the Wickenburg Wranglers with a 51-46 win on Tuesday. That's more bragging rights for the Cougars, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Wickenburg lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Larry Wilcox, who posted 11 points. Another player making a difference was Jimmy Garcia, who earned 12 points and five steals.

Chino Valley's victory ended a nine-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-9. As for Wickenburg, their loss was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-15.

Chino Valley didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 46-41 defeat against Tonopah Valley on the 23rd. Wickenburg has also already played their next matchup, an 89-45 loss against Mohave Accelerated on the 24th.
