Basketball Recap: Brockport Takes a Loss

Brockport was the 53-45 winner over Spencerport when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The Brockport Blue Devils fell 49-40 to the Spencerport Rangers on Thursday. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Blue Devils came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 68th, while the Rangers are ranked 254th).

Brockport's defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 7-2. As for Spencerport, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 9-10 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Brockport will welcome Honeoye Falls-Lima at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Spencerport, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Pittsford at 5:15 p.m. One thing working in Pittsford's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last seven games.
