Recap: Del Sol Dragons vs. Western Warriors

If the Del Sol Dragons were feeling good off their 73-25 takedown of the Southeast Career Tech Roadrunners last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Del Sol took a 73-69 hit to the loss column at the hands of Western. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.

Several Dragons players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kasire Johnson, who scored 31 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Johnson has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Luis Lozano, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten assists.

Del Sol's defeat dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Western, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-11.

Del Sol won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Pinecrest Academy Sloan Canyon at 6:30 p.m. on January 17th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Nevada (Pinecrest Academy Sloan Canyon is ranked 73rd, while Del Sol is ranked 79th). As for Western, they will head out on the road to take on Chaparral at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
