Softball Recap: Alhambra Takes a Loss

After flying high against Montebello on Thursday, Alhambra came back down to earth. The Moors came up short against the San Marino Titans on Saturday, falling 23-11. The loss continues a trend for the Moors in their meetings with the Titans: they've now lost five in a row.

Amari Antunez made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one double. Annika Rodriguez was another key player, earning two runs and one stolen base.

Alhambra's defeat dropped their record down to 4-14. As for San Marino, their victory ended a 12-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-12.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Alhambra will challenge Cantwell-Sacred Heart of Mary at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The last three games the Cardinals have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for San Marino, they will square off against South Pasadena at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Titans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Tigers have averaged an impressive 6.4 runs per game this season.
