Volleyball Recap: College Park Falls to Tomball in First Game of Season

College Park unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They came up short against the Tomball Cougars on Tuesday, falling 3-0. The Cavaliers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cougars apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in August of 2024.

The loss didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Tomball scored at least 19 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-23, 25-19.

Gemma Hopkins went supernova For Tomball., getting 20 digs and three aces. That's the most aces Hopkins has posted since back in September of 2024.

College Park wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 2-1 defeat against Klein Collins on the 14th. As for Tomball, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 win against Grand Oaks on the 14th.
