Recap: Moore Catholic Mavericks vs. Kennedy Catholic Gaels
It was a good run, but the Moore Catholic Mavericks unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Monday. They took a 64-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of Kennedy Catholic. The game was a 20-20 toss-up at halftime, but Moore Catholic couldn't quite close it out.
Several Mavericks players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jordan Felci, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds and two steals. Alyssa Ragona was another key contributor, scoring six points along with two steals.
Moore Catholic's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 16-5. As for Kennedy Catholic, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-8 record this season.
Moore Catholic will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against St. Edmund Prep at 6:30 p.m. on February 14th. St. Edmund Prep will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps New York Rankings (they are ranked 407th, while Moore Catholic is ranked 22nd). As for Kennedy Catholic, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Cardinal Spellman at 6:15 p.m. on February 13th.
