Basketball Recap: Kamiak Knights vs. Arlington Eagles

After flying high against Lake Stevens last Tuesday, Kamiak came back down to earth. The Kamiak Knights took a 62-46 bruising from the Arlington Eagles on Friday. The Knights were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2022.

Arlington had a senior duo take command as Billy Kooy dropped a double-double on 24 points and 14 rebounds and Leyton Martin almost dropped a triple-double on 17 points, 11 rebounds, and nine assists. The matchup was Martin's tenth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Jake Willis, who posted five points.

Kamiak's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 4-4. As for Arlington, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-2.
