Baseball Game Preview: Mechanicsburg Wildcats vs. Altoona Mountain Lions

The Mechanicsburg Wildcats will head out on the road to square off against the Altoona Mountain Lions at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

On Monday, Mechanicsburg came up short against Cedar Cliff and fell 8-5. The Wildcats have struggled against the Colts recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Jager Nailor was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3. Nailor is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season.

Meanwhile, Altoona didn't have quite enough to beat State College on Monday and fell 7-6.

Having lost for the first time this season, Mechanicsburg fell to 2-1. As for Altoona, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Mechanicsburg was able to grind out a solid victory over Altoona when the teams last played back in May of 2022, winning 6-3. Will Mechanicsburg repeat their success, or does Altoona has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
