Softball Recap: Northview Academy Cougars vs. Cocke County Fighting Cocks

Northview Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They suffered a tough 13-2 loss at the hands of the Cocke County Fighting Cocks. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Northview Academy of the 11-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2023.

Abigail Doty was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-3.

On Cocke County's side, Hailee Hartsell was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits (and not a single walk). Hartsell has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive pitching appearances. Hartsell was also stellar in the batter's box, going 4-for-4 with four RBI and two doubles.
