Borrego Springs had won seven straight on the road, but on Friday they bumped their record up to 12-2 to make it eight. They came out on top against the Vincent Memorial Scots by a score of 8-5. The Rams haven't had any issues with the Scots recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Joey Rocha was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Roman Rodriguez was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Borrego Springs kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in March.

As for Vincent Memorial, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-12 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.3 runs over those games.

On Vincent Memorial's side, Armando Mendivil was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Jose Carlos Hurtado, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one RBI.

Coincidentally, Borrego Springs and Vincent Memorial will both be playing Calipatria the next time they take the field. The Scots will host the Hornets on Tuesday, while the Rams will host them at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.
