Baseball Recap: Milan Makes It Seven in a Row at Home

Milan waltzed into their contest on Monday with two straight wins... but they left with three. Everything went their way against the Ripley Tigers as they made off with a 10-0 victory. The Bulldogs have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Tigers, too.

Not much got past James Carter, who gave up just a hit and racked up nine Ks to keep Ripley off the board. Carter has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Colin Milligan was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with four runs, two stolen bases, and two RBI. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. Colton Mallard also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Milan pushed their record up to 10-12 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.6 runs over those games. As for Ripley, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-12 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Milan beat Ripley by a score of 9-1 on Tuesday.
