Softball Recap: Thursday's Victory Is Winona's Ninth in Last 11 Outings

It's playoff time, and Winona had no trouble coming through when it counted. Everything went their way against the Rosa Fort Lions on Thursday as they made off with a 17-2 victory. Considering the Tigers have won 14 matches by more than nine runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Winona is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-12 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.1 runs over those games. As for Rosa Fort, they are on a 13-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-16-1.

Looking ahead, Winona will challenge Nettleton at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Rosa Fort does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
