Soccer Recap: Pekin Takes a Loss

Pekin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They came up short against the Illini Bluffs Tigers, falling 5-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Illini Bluffs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 4-0 back in August.

Pekin's defeat dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Illini Bluffs, their victory bumped their record up to 7-1-2.

Coming up, Pekin will be playing in front of their home fans against Roanoke-Benson/Eureka at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Roanoke-Benson/Eureka will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Pekin surely won't give up without a fight. As for Illini Bluffs, they will head out to square off against East Peoria at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Illini Bluffs will be up against East Peoria's rather soft defense (which has allowed 3.13 goals per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
